This is a great recipe for those that are looking for something light, refreshing and nutrient dense meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 ml water to soak
  • 1/2 medium yellow onion
  • 1 large garlic clove
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • 1 tbs corn starch
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp baharat spice* syrian spice
  • salt to taste
  • Cucumber and tomato salad:
  • 2 tbs parsley
  • 10 in cherry tomatoes cuthalf
  • 1 medium cucumber seeded and diced
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 2 tbs olive oil
  • salt

Instructions
 

  • Soak chickpeas for 8 hours Drain and rinse well Transfer it to a food processor and add the remaining ingredients Blend until it forms a thick paste Mold the paste forming disks or use a round cookie cutter. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and grill the burgers until a crust forms on the outside Serve it warm with a cucumber and tomato salad: In a bowl add chopped parsley, diced cucumber and halved cherry tomatoes. Season with olive oil, lime juice and salt to taste. Enjoy

Notes

*Baharat spice
2 tbs allspice
1 tsp ground cloves
1 tbs ground black pepper
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
This recipe makes about 6 burgers and seves up to 2 people.
You can save the remaining paste for up to 3 days in a air tight container.
For extra flavor squeeze lime juice over burgers.
